Who are these tournaments for? - These are to promote Select teams and the growth of volleyball outside the rigid/expensive format of the existing volleyball structure in Ontario. Lower level OVA teams are allowed but we are trying to promote clubs having Select teams.
Lots of play. Pools will include teams of similar abilities
Special rules include:
Unlimited substitutions
May play ball off ceiling ( USA style )
Matching uniforms recommended, but not mandatory
May volley the serve
Referees provide
Format:.
Most "tournaments" are exhibition games, no playoffs. Usually 10 - 12 sets, no medals
Several would have playoffs
13u is NOT triple ball
Priority for March tournaments is given to teams that have registered in previous Southwest tournaments this year.
